Thanks to Laurie (and all) for the kind words.

Just a quick word about Laurie. In 1957 she cut an album called “Paradise” with some of the great players on the scene at that time: Mel Lewis, Pete Candoli, Al Viola, Red Mitchel and others. The album was arranged by the great Marty Paich. It is a top shelf performance from beginning to end by all involved.

Due to some bad breaks the album ended up in a vault and only recently has seen the light of day.

Upon listening to it the first time, about a year ago, in our PJR studios, I was knocked out. I was also reminded how much luck has to do with fame, near fame or obscurity. She could have, and should have, been a contender.

It’s not too late though. “Paradise” is available via all of the usual suspects….Amazon, CD Baby, etc.. Or you can check it out on Pure Jazz Radio where Laurie is on our regular play list.

VERY Good Article on a Great guy and dedicated music promoter. RIch is so inovative and has a Pure heart for the music and getting it out there for starving Jazz listeners. His eagerness to promote fledgling and seasoned performers alike makes for a great mix of artists and music. Great , too that he is so considerate of all time zones
For us on the West Coast, we can even split the New York Tonight shows or listen twice if we can’t get enough. There’s no place like PJR or no one that I know of like Rich Keith.
Thanks for introducing him and PJR to your readers who may not have been so fortunate to have been along since its inception last January.
Glad that Rich turned us on to you as well.

Thanks for the piece on PureJazzRadio! Been following Rich Keith for a few years, I listened to his shows on the last FM station he was at, & was glad to hear he moved online. I love Jazz, & it just ain’t out there on the airwaves! Thank Goodness he is continuing his work, & it’s great to have such a webstation that’s based right here on Long Island. Also a very interesting site right here, SpotOnLI, looking forward to checking it out!

My name is Barry Barcock, I live in Japan, where I tune-into P.J.R. most days of the week. It was great to read your interview with Richard. It has given me more insight into Richard and P.J.R. Richard is very knowledgeable about the jazz scene, and it is great to hear him talk about and explain about a certain c.d./artist. But Richard isn’t the only announcer at P.J.R. He has a great team of guys who broadcast their own brand of programme – Lenore Raphael, Chris Walker, Bob Bernotas,Tom the Jazzman,Gano & Beverly Evans – “Two4Jazz”, to name a few. Congratulations to all those involved and keep up the great work.

I am glad to see this wonderful article on Pure Jazz Radio and Richard Ketih. He has assembled a wonderful station which is as professionally run as any station owned by one of the major corporations. The musical selection is a delight to the fans of jazz and Richard’s on-line banter is quite entertaining. Thanks for helping to promote PJR… it’s a treasure.
