I can speak from experience that once you're on the plus side of 40 you start to worry less about the things other people think and more about the things that are important to you. You also wish you hadn't spent so much time worrying about trivial matters before you hit 40. Although - I must admit I still enjoy throwing on a nice thong from time to time. Terrific story!
