THE OFF KEY TIKKI IN PATCHOGUE – MILES FROM ORDINARY, YET ONLY MINUTES FROM HOME

Perhaps you’ve never thought of the Patchogue River as a vacation destination, but once you pay a visit to the Off Key Tikki, you’ll return home and no doubt feel like it’s the last day of vacation and all you want to do is go back.

The Off Key Tikki is waterfront dining at its best.  Just off River Avenue in Patchogue at the West Bank Marina along the Patchogue River, they’re open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and an amazing Sunday Brunch on the Beach.  Exotic specialty drinks, tropical cuisine, live music, entertainment, and dancing in the white sand deliver you to a resort – for a lot less money!

We’ve visited the Off Key Tikki several times and it’s always been a blast.  Recently we went on a Wednesday – it was Lobster night.  For only $15 we enjoyed a huge mouth watering lobster – plus delicious $5.00 Margarita’s.  Oh, and there was live music from 5 till 9pm.  On a Wednesday no less!  Yes it was truly like being on vacation.  There are specials and features every day of the week – but for great tropical entrees, Chef Dave always has delectable fare to offer.

The Luau-style twin lobster tails and Grilled Volcano Pork featuring spicy “volcano” sauce are highly recommended.  You’ll also want to try the Grilled Bermuda Chicken, made with caramelized Bermuda onions, roasted red peppers, then smothered in Mango Black Bean Salsa over Tikki rice and greens and served alongside the chef’s veggies.   Hungry?  The Marinated “Wahoo” Steak, Mango Mahi Mahi will fill you up – and if you’re a shrimp lover, get set for the biggest tower of grilled shrimp you’ve ever seen and order their Ridiculous Grilled Shrimp.  Ridiculous in a very good way!

The Off Key Tikki is a place where the big kids come out to play – and like we said there’s always something happening – here’s what you’ll find…

Mondays are “Dinner and a Show” – starting at 6pm, only $29.95 per person gets you a prix fixe dinner and live entertainment from comedy to dueling pianos – check their website for what’s happing this week!

Tuesdays are also ridiculous with their Ridiculous Clam Bake!  Only $15 a person – plus its live Blues on the Beach sponsored by our friends at Blue Point Brewery.

Wednesdays as we mentioned are Lobster Night!  In addition to the money you’ll be saving on dinner and Margarita’s – you’ll also be entertained by the best local bands performing live!

Thursdays are “Generations Ladies Nights” Everyone enjoys the best live 70’s and 80’s music performed by the Island’s top party bands.  Ladies enjoy free admission all night, half priced drinks from 5 till 9pm and free drinks from 9 till midnight.

Fridays and Saturdays are legendary at the Off Key Tikki – as they rock all night with the Island’s top bands. It’s also Happy Hour each day from 4 till 6pm and a free buffet for everyone starting at 6pm.

Sundays start out with their Brunch on the Beach from 11am till 3pm and all afternoon it’s a Tikki Beach Party…pull up a beach chair and enjoy live music all day long!

The Off Key Tikki is also the perfect place for a private party – from 20 to 200 – they offer everything you need to make it an experience for your guests they’ll never forget!  Simple Tikki-Que barbeque packages to the Big Kahuna – a party befitting the Gods, no matter what your party needs it’s certain to be a party in paradise.  Add a Pig Roast, Fire Dancers, Live DJ and Sushi Bar and more to transport all of your guests to the tropics without leaving Long Island.

This past weekend we had our daughter’s college graduation party at the Off Key.  It was great fun for everyone – and, since Amanda is so very popular and diverse, our many guests ranged in age from 3 to 81.  All were well fed, entertained and had a wonderful time.  As an added touch, every guest receives a party lei and frozen specialty cocktail to get them into the holiday on the beach mood!
