Most Memorable UEFA Champions League Finals

You will agree with me that the UEFA Champions League tournament has offered fans memorable moments. In this article, we have shared the most spectacular finals in Europe’s most prestigious competition.

Arsenal vs Barcelona

Arsenal is among the top-flight teams that haven’t won the Champions League. The closest the London side came to lifting the big-eared trophy was during the 2006 finals when the Catalans shattered their dreams. Goalkeeper Jens Lehmann had been instrumental all along but ended up with a red card just 18 minutes into the game. But with only ten men, Arsenal managed a goal in the first half courtesy of Sol Campbell. All that was left was to hold on to the lead. Unfortunately, the Gunners lost it in the second half as Eto’o and Julian Belletti wrapped it up with two beautiful goals.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool

With Klopp taking charge at Anfield, the reds showed great potential, reaching the finals. Liverpool looked dangerous until Sergio Ramos brought down Salah and the Egyptian had to leave the pitch with a shoulder injury. With the main man down, and blunders by young goalkeeper Loris Karius, the reds were hammered three goals to 1 and once again, Real Madrid were champions of Europe.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid

The 2016 Champions League finals was an all-Madrid derby. Diego Simeone was looking for Atletico’s first-ever Champions League, and it wasn’t going to be an easy duel with the likes of Ronaldo, and Ramos as the opposition. Sergio Ramos and Yannick Carrasco were on target as the game ended 1-1 in normal time. Real Madrid was exceptional in the shootout, but unfortunately, Atletico Madrid missed their chances. That was the end of Someone’s dream of lifting the Champions League.

There you have it folks, there remarkable UEFA Champions League finals. Which one is the most memorable for you?
